Our cutting-edge space imaging company is revolutionizing the way governments and commercial entities visualize their spacecraft. We employ innovative technology to capture high-resolution images of space objects, providing invaluable insights for strategic decision-making.

We are seeking an accomplished Space Systems Engineer to spearhead the design and development of our next-generation space cameras. As a key member of our hardware team, you will be responsible for:

* Designing and developing advanced optical payloads for our space-based imaging systems;
* Performing hands-on mechanical and optical assembly of our space cameras in a state-of-the-art lab environment;
* Developing and refining assembly procedures to ensure repeatability and reliability across all production stages;
* Implementing best practices in design-for-manufacture (DFM) and incorporating prototyping feedback into design revisions;
* Investigating and resolving manufacturing issues during prototyping and early production builds;
* Maintaining configuration control and documentation for production hardware;
* Conducting incoming and in-process part inspection, fit checks, and managing supplier-provided hardware quality;
* Planning and managing payload-level test campaigns, including vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, and thermal vacuum testing;

You will work closely with our experienced hardware team to deliver cutting-edge space cameras that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. To succeed in this role, you should possess:

* Proven experience in the production and testing of complex hardware systems, preferably in space, aerospace, or defense;
* Excellent organizational, project management, and documentation skills to drive projects forward efficiently;
* Proficiency in Fusion 360 or similar CAD software for designing and modeling complex systems;
* Strong knowledge of Python for programming and automation tasks;
* Familiarity with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) for CNC machining operations;
