Purpose of the Role
Working at the Tully Hospital within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Senior Medical Officer, providing high‑quality clinical care to patients within the region.
As the Senior Medical Officer you will provide a high standard of care for patients and their families, contributing to improving the health of the local population.
Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide emergency, acute, palliative and outpatient medical care to patients and families.
* Maintain patient safety and deliver unsupervised high‑quality medical services.
* Participate in continual development of clinical knowledge and skills.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, directors and facility managers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with VPD vaccination evidence and relevant policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Medical qualification and registration as a Senior Medical Officer.
Experience in emergency, acute or outpatient medical care is preferred.
Knowledge of VPD vaccination requirements and ability to provide evidence.

Temporary hours negotiable, ASAP up to July 2026.
