Join a Canberra-based high-profile federal government program delivering significant legislative reform to improve transparency and accountability nationwide.
Your new role
Commencing ASAP until 31 December 2026, maximum 18 months.
Working as part of a fast-paced team, you will play a key role in crafting clear, engaging, and accessible communication materials that help stakeholders understand complex regulatory changes.
* Develop and deliver multichannel communication activities aligned with APS style guidelines.
* Draft, edit, and review content for the intranet, newsletters, factsheets, video scripts, presentations, and talking points.
* Translate complex technical and legislative information into simple, user-friendly messages.
* Support stakeholder engagement and foster positive relationships across internal and external audiences.
* Monitor communication effectiveness and contribute ideas for process improvement.
* Assist with governance papers and program reporting documentation.
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum Baseline security clearance
* Demonstrated experience in communications, media, marketing, change management, or PR roles in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* Collaborative approach and stakeholder engagement experience.
Desirable
* Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, journalism, or related field.
* Familiarity with government or regulatory environments.
* Experience translating legislation into accessible materials.
* Skills in photography, videography, or tools like Canva and video editing software.
