Offer description

Are you nearing completion of a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree?

Through starting your career in Local Government, you will have the opportunity to develop specialist technical skills within a supportive team.

The cadetship is a structured training and development program for students who have satisfactorily completed at least four semesters of their Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree and are currently in their third year of study. To be eligible, students need to have completed at least 96 credit points in their degree.

This role includes undertaking part-time study and gaining practical work experience in Engineering, Asset Strategy, and at our Oak Flats Works & Services Depot.

This includes working on local projects involving roads, traffic, subdivision control, flood management, waste services, civil works, and project planning.

Our Cadet, Apprentice, and Trainee (CAT) Program aims to build our skilled workforce by creating job opportunities and a talent pipeline for specialized roles. It also supports future leaders through employment and professional development, with ongoing training and mentorship while completing a nationally recognized qualification.
