Overview

APS4/APS5 Planner (General & Affirmative Measures - Disability & First Nations)

QLD Service Delivery Branch is responsible for engaging with participants and managing participant plans and supports. Planning teams provide direct service delivery for NDIS participants; engaging with participants and managing participant plans and supports to ensure nationally consistent participant experiences aligned to the Participant Service Guarantee.

The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

New role

APS4 Planner – A team member role that operates within defined parameters. Applies well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to contribute to NDIA’s objectives to build a world-leading NDIS. Provides operational and administrative support, informed by knowledge in service delivery areas, and undertakes research and analysis activities. Requires considerable internal and external stakeholder contact and the ability to communicate with and advise on a range of service delivery matters to resolve moderately complex enquiries.

APS5 Planner – Undertakes planning activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. Performs procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that support the NDIA’s objectives. It is a team membership role and may involve team leadership responsibilities such as setting priorities and allocating work to other team members. Requires considerable internal and external stakeholder contact and the ability to communicate with and advise on a range of service delivery matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities (Duties)

APS4 Planner – Duties may include:

- Gathering information from participants and planning partners to enable high-quality planning and evidence-based decision-making.
- Using policies, guidance and legislation to make funding decisions in relation to participant plans to complement informal, community and mainstream supports.
- Working with participants and their representatives to identify current and future supports and options to achieve plan outcomes.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to deliver services to participants.
- Resolving issues and complaints related to participant plans.
- Completing administrative and data entry tasks relating to participants.
- Contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators, including planning targets.

APS5 Planner – Duties may include:

- Contributing to management of workflow in collaboration with team leadership.
- Gathering information from participants, planning partners and stakeholders to enable high-quality planning and evidence-based decision-making.
- Determining funded supports to be included in participant plans to complement informal and formal supports.
- Working with participants and their representatives to identify current and future supports and options to achieve plan outcomes.
- Resolving issues and complaints related to participant plans.
- Completing administrative and data entry tasks relating to participant records and task workflows.
- Contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators, including planning targets.

- Experience in the disability and/or allied health sector is desirable but not essential.

Locations: roles are based in Beenleigh, Bundaberg, Caboolture, Cairns, Chermside, Hervey Bay, Inala, Ipswich, Mackay, Maroochydore, Mount Gravatt, Robina, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Townsville and Woodridge. Remote working locations will not be considered.

We intend to fill this role on an ongoing basis; non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with possible extension up to 18 months may be offered.

Pre-employment checks may include National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and evidence of Australian Citizenship.
