About the role We have an exciting new opportunity at South West Healthcare (SWH)! Are you a passionate and dedicated Social Worker, Psychologist, or Counsellor, who is committed to supporting child and adult survivors of sexual assault and family violence? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of community members in the South West impacted by gender-based violence? Come join our growing Southwestern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SWCASA) Intake team as a Counsellor/Advocate, and help us support survivors through their process of healing and trauma recovery. As a Counsellor/Advocate in the SWCASA Intake team, you will accept referrals and undertake comprehensive assessments to determine program eligibility and priority for clients across our four therapeutic service streams. SWCASA are funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) to provide the following programs: * Sexual Assault and Support Service * Harmful Sexual Behaviours Program * Family Violence counselling - Women and Children * Heart - For Healing, Empowerment and Recovery after Family Violence - counselling for adults and children who have experienced family violence. Additionally, this role includes opportunities to contribute to our community education initiatives, therapeutic group programs and brief intervention counselling support. Position overview * Full-time (80 hours per fortnight), Fixed-term position * Commencing May 2025, through until May 2026 * Flexibility for part-time hours if preferred, along with opportunities for contract extension after 12 months as funding is confirmed * Warrnambool Campus, with an opportunity to conduct outreach to Portland and Camperdown locations as required * Classification: Social Worker Grade 2 * Salary Range: $90,235.60 - $103,724.40, plus superannuation * Monthly ADO for full time staff What you bring Eligible applicants will have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience within the sexual assault and family violence sector and/or experience in delivering specialist counselling and interventions within a trauma-informed model of care. Experience in conducting risk assessments, psychosocial assessments, safety planning, and adherence to MARAM legislative responsibilities is essential. Previous experience in an intake role is preferred. This role works collaboratively with the SWCASA Team Leader to ensure consistent, high-quality therapeutic trauma-informed services for adults, adolescents, and children. The successful candidate will also be assigned a specific portfolio of interest to manage, in consultation with the CASA Manager.
