Role
The Leadership Coach supports the development of leadership capacity across the school by working with senior leaders, middle leaders and early-career/inexperienced leaders. The role focuses on strengthening leadership practice, decision-making, communication, and people leadership to improve individual effectiveness and whole-school outcomes.
The Leadership Coach operates in a non-evaluative, developmental capacity, providing coaching, mentoring, and targeted professional learning aligned with the school¿s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
Leadership Coaching & Development
* Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching to senior leaders, middle leaders and emerging leaders.
* Support leaders to develop clarity around their role, responsibilities, and impact.
* Assist leaders to build confidence in leading teams, managing performance, and navigating complex situations.
* Support reflective practice and goal-setting linked to professional growth and school improvement priorities.
Capability Building
* Develop leadership capability in areas such as:
o Instructional leadership
o People management and difficult conversations
o Change leadership
o Strategic thinking and problem-solving
o Time management and prioritisation
* Support new or inexperienced leaders to transition successfully into leadership roles.
Professional Learning
* Design and facilitate targeted leadership development sessions as required.
* Model effective leadership practices and behaviours.
* Contribute to the development of a strong, consistent leadership culture across the school.
Collaboration & Alignment
* Work collaboratively with the principal class to align coaching with the school¿s strategic plan and improvement agenda.
* Maintain confidentiality and professional trust with all participants.
* Provide feedback (non-judgemental and de-identified where appropriate) to school leadership on emerging leadership development needs.

Location Profile
Cranbourne West Secondary College abuts rapidly growing residential areas in the suburb of Cranbourne. The school will work in partnership with the community to provide authentic learning opportunities and best academic and personal outcomes for all students. Cranbourne West Secondary College in the rapidly growing suburb of Cranbourne opening in January 2021 with 198 Year 7 enrolments. Currently the College has 1600 students across Year 7 to Year 11 and is anticipated to grow beyond 2000 students in 2026 as we commence our first year of Year 12. Neighbouring schools are relatively large and Cranbourne West Secondary College is expected to grow quickly to meet residents¿ demand for excellence in education, consistent with the vision for the Education State.
Cranbourne West Secondary College will provide students with state-of-the-art facilities in STEM, Visual Arts, Physical Education and Performing Arts spaces to cater for the learning needs of all students.
