The Opportunity
We are seeking a high‑performing Medical Administrator to support surgeons and medical professionals with administrative and operational needs in a fast‑paced, team environment. Key duties include clinical coordination, assisting specialists, handling patient calls, and working closely with the team to maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Specialist Correspondence: Manage correspondence, patient lists, scheduling and data management
* Diary Management: Oversee leave requests and coordinate patient appointments
* Patient Liaison: Provide professional, compassionate assistance to patients and be the friendly voice on the phone and the helpful hand at the desk
* Financial Administration: Reconcile daily takings and manage banking tasks
* Records Management: Maintain confidential and accurate patient records
* Debtor Management: Monitor outstanding payments and ensure timely resolution
* Team Coordination: Liaise with hospitals, referring doctors, anaesthetist and allied health professionals
* Systems & Compliance: Apply sound knowledge of Medicare and private health fund knowledge to streamline workflows
* Surgical Billing: Accurately process Medicare and private health fund claims, process patient accounts
