Join Stockland's Customer & Digital team as a Senior Analytics Engineer, based at our Sydney Head Office. In this pivotal role, you will shape the future of our analytics capability by designing and delivering scalable data models and pipelines that power smarter decision making across the business.
You will lead a small analytics engineering team with 2 direct reports initially, with plans to grow the team over time, and partner closely with stakeholders across Platform Engineering, Business Intelligence, Software Engineering, Finance, Sales Operations and Commercial Property Analytics & Insights.
This is a permanent, full-time role with a hybrid working model. You will be in the office 3 days per week with anchor days on Tuesday and Thursday, and the third day flexible to what works for you and the team.
We're Looking For a...
You are an experienced Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of data, technology and business outcomes. You are comfortable leading others, setting direction for modern analytics engineering practices and working hands on with tools like dbt, SQL and AWS.
You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy coaching others and are motivated by the opportunity to build and improve an evolving analytics function that has real impact across a large and complex organisation.
What You'll Do
Lead, coach and mentor a team of analytics engineers, creating an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages learning and high-quality delivery.
Scope, design and build robust, reusable data models and transformations using dbt within our AWS ecosystem to support BI, reporting, data science and analytical applications.
Develop and maintain enterprise grade data pipelines and analytical datasets, ensuring strong data quality, testing, documentation and governance.
Translate complex business requirements into scalable, domain driven data models, including ERDs and data flow diagrams aligned to enterprise standards.
Partner with teams such as Platform Engineering, Business Intelligence, Software Engineering, Finance, Sales Operations and Commercial Property Analytics & Insights to continuously improve analytics processes and deliver impactful data products.
Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and optimisation across the analytics lifecycle, and help set the strategic direction and execution of analytics engineering at Stockland.

Experience & Skills That Count
Demonstrated background in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering, ideally within large or complex enterprise environments.
Strong hands-on experience with dbt and advanced SQL to design and deliver scalable, maintainable data models. dbt experience is essential.
Practical experience working with cloud-based data stacks, preferably AWS, with familiarity in Python, Git and CI/CD considered beneficial.
Proven capability in leading or mentoring technical team members, with strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Comfortable interpreting and designing ERDs, data flows and database schemas, and contributing to improving data processes and standards.
