The Opportunity:

If you’re a senior finance leader in the hotel sector, this is your chance to choose your own adventure—with two distinct Director of Finance opportunities currently available through Recruitment Labs.
With high-design assets, strong brand backing, and a clear appetite for modern, strategic leadership, these hotels are seeking Directors of Finance who can help steer their operations from growth mode to long-term commercial success. These roles offer the rare opportunity to shape the finance function from the ground up, working closely with senior leadership to drive commercial outcomes.
Melbourne Property – A design-led lifestyle hotel with a boutique-style environment, ideal for someone who thrives in creative, fast-paced settings. This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
Gold Coast Property – A luxury hotel with bold plans and a powerful brand. High-end guest experiences, multiple F&B outlets, and serious investment into delivering a standout product. This is a permanent position.
Role Profile:
These are full-spectrum finance leadership positions, ideal for hands-on professionals who can blend strategic insight with day-to-day rigour. Sitting on the hotel executive team, you’ll guide the financial operations through pre-opening set-up, launch execution, and ongoing commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* End-to-end oversight of financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
* Driving internal controls, payroll, cashflow, and compliance across all departments
* Mentoring, leading, and developing a small, capable finance team
* Providing commercially sound insights and partnering closely with GMs and department heads
* Managing owner and brand reporting, capital expenditure planning, and external audits
* Ensuring financial practices are both globally aligned and locally compliant
Successful Candidate Profile:
You’re more than a back-office operator, you’re a business partner. You understand how to guide leadership through numbers, and you have a track record of shaping commercial outcomes in complex hotel environments. You’ll bring:
* CA or CPA qualification
* At least 3-5 years in hotel finance leadership (DOF)
* Experience leading teams, establishing controls, and delivering results
* Strong systems capability and stakeholder management skills
* A solutions mindset and collaborative style that builds trust across the business
