About the role
In this 12-month fixed term opportunity the value-added sourcing team has been up and running for almost a year now, with great success amongst the business units in supporting longer-term value-added sourcing projects amongst our key strategic suppliers.
The role of Value-added sourcing manager will see you leverage your procurement sourcing strategies in such areas as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement and help support and drive the value-added sourcing team.
You will also:
• Aid in the development and delivery of supply strategies for Coles Brand products as part of the own brand strategic sourcing team.
• Support and ensure the best ‘End to End’ value solutions with key strategic suppliers, supporting Cole’s growth in supplier collaboration to drive longer term sustainable cost advantage.
• Partner and work alongside the Value-added sourcing Lead to continue to develop and implement the Coles Brand sourcing strategy.
• Play an integral part of running a series of workshops with key suppliers, to focus on areas of optimisation within the end-to-end value chain.
• Collaborate and align with various internal stakeholders and senior management representatives to ensure the optimal category strategy is developed.
• Help identify future innovation opportunities to keep the category ahead of industry trends/technologies.
About you and your skills
In this exciting role within the strategic sourcing team, you have a great opportunity to have genuine impact with the work you will do. This role will allow you to have contact and key stakeholder relationships with several business units to really drive added value within the wider Own Brand function.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working in procurement and exposure in manufacturing in areas such as lean processes, understanding waste and is well versed in continuous improvement. Team members with prior experience in category management and product development would also be advantageous. Strong project management, planning, problem solving, and time management skills are essential.
You will also have:
• Proven experience within the retail industry
• Demonstrated hands on project management and developed stakeholder management skills
• Previous exposure to have worked within a commercial, fast paced, and complex environment.
• Strong people skills and proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to plan and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Critical thinking with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment.
• Exposure to varied data analysis
• Developed presentation and facilitation skills.
