Work Type: Permanent Full Time • Salary: $122,086 - $146,371 p.a. + Super + Leaseback
Overview
An opportunity to provide effective leadership to a team responsible for the assessment of major/complex development applications. The successful candidate will join a high functioning planning unit and contribute to managing development in one of the fastest growing LGAs in the country.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to a team responsible for the assessment of major/complex development applications
- Contribute to managing development in a fast-growing local government area
Essential qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning or a related discipline
- Solid knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, with extensive experience in the assessment, processing and reporting of a wide variety of development proposals
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regional and local planning panels)
- Ability to provide innovative and practical solutions to resolve complex issues
- Experience in a supervisory role and demonstrated ability to make decisions
- Robust negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Experience in the management of Land and Environment Court matters
Desirable
- Experience in urban release area planning
