We are currently looking to hire an experienced BDM for a leading supplier of components and engineered solutions to the Australian Gas markets.

We are seeking a person who has the ability to increase this company's presence in the market and secure tenders and sales opportunities for the gas components they represent. The market is highly competitive, with several other players established in competition.

The Role

Your primary role will be to increase our presence in gas markets by liaising with existing and new customers, as well as identifying new product/service opportunities for the company.

Being professional, experienced, and motivated with prior exposure in the gas industry, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to respond to tenders, negotiate and close larger contracts, and build long-term relationships.

The role requires the person to possess the skills and abilities to gain new business from within the sector and increase the awareness of the company.

This role will suit the person who has previous BDM experience, especially with large scale project-based opportunities; who has outstanding presentation skills, impressive sales and closing ability; and a strategic product/service sales mindset.

Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will be highly motivated by the successful initiatives they develop with the team, have a high level of integrity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to converse at all levels.

Experience

1. Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Gas acts, regulations, standards, and international codes.
2. Sound knowledge in gas systems and components and their applications.
3. Appropriate academic background given the level of the position.
4. Demonstrable sales and business development experience in the gas market or a comparable relevant market.
5. Ability to source and respond to tenders.
6. Ability to identify growth areas and to obtain opportunities within these growth areas.
7. Cost estimating, procurement sales, and commercial acumen.
8. Ability to bring the team along with you on new initiatives.
