Our Maternity Unit
This is an exciting opportunity for a Student Midwife to join our progressive team. The Maternity Unit is located at our Wodonga Campus, one of Victoria's largest regional units facilitating up to 1,700 births annually. We are seeking highly motivated Student Midwives who desire to work predominantly in our Maternity Unit and across all maternity unit streams including Antenatal, Postnatal, Birth Suite, Women's Surgical Unit and Special Care Nursery. The successful incumbent will be responsible for carrying out and attending to the responsibilities and duties outlined in the position description for the Registered Nurse/Midwife. This would suit a registered nurse with demonstrated acute experience and sound clinical skills who would like to further develop their career in Midwifery.
Position Details
* Provided externally through LaTrobe University, Bendigo Campus, and Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga Campus. 12‑month program, for students at 0.8 EFT (4 days per week – paid) studying through Charles Sturt University.
* Commonwealth Supported Places are available.
* Students are employed part‑time (3–4 days per week, depending on University) whilst studying.
* Post Graduate Study Leave to attend mandatory residential school.
* Dedicated Midwifery Student Facilitator, Clinical Support nurse.
Who Are You?
* You are committed to providing the highest quality patient‑centred care.
* You hold Current Nursing and/or Midwifery Registration with APHRA.
* You are compassionate, approachable, and able to build rapport with patients and staff.
* You have excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
* You have at least one year's acute experience.
