An exciting opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse Level 2, to work in the role of Risk, Safety and Quality Officer in a 0.5 FTE ongoing capacity. This role will be based in the perioperative suite and work alongside the clinical leadership team..

About The Role

Working alongside the Risk, Safety and Quality Manager, staff, consumers and theatre clinical managers, the Risk Safety and Quality Officer is responsible for providing day to day support of the Clinical Governance systems in the perioperative suite. This role will ensure the quality systems in the perioperative suite complement the strategic direction, daily operational processes, budget, business direction and delivery of clinical care of the hospital, whilst supporting compliance with the National Safety and Quality in Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

Your main duties will include:

Assist in and support a hospital wide quality improvement program that promotes an integrated system of patient safety, quality improvement and risk management in line with the strategic direction of the hospital.Actively participate in identification and management of risks within the Perioperative SuiteDeliver education and engage with staff to provide a common understanding of the NSQHS Standards within the hospitalActively participate in quality improvement and risk management activities to support the organisations ongoing preparedness for unannounced assessment by accrediting agencies.Participate and lead internal investigations and audits relating to incidents, complaints and development of processes.Provide administration and coordination support in the management and maintenance of controlled documents across the organisation.

About You

Registration with the Australian Heath Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered nurse A thorough understanding of the NSQHS StandardsAn understanding of principles of quality improvement and risk managementSkills in investigation and report writing with a keen eye for detailHigh level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skillsA desire to work with a team focused on exceptional quality outcomes and change managementA desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
