Position Overview: Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer
Under supervision, the Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and accounts payable functions. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to compliance and service excellence.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll officer/ Accounts Assistant to join our team to process fortnightly payrolls and assist with the accounting
Responsibilities
Payroll Duties
* Process fortnightly payroll, including leave entitlements, superannuation, portable long service leave, work cover, and payroll tax.
* Review employee timesheets and liaise with managers to ensure accuracy.
* Set up new employees in the payroll system.
* Manage payroll adjustments, reimbursements, and termination payments.
* Finalise year-end payroll reports and ensure compliance with reporting obligations.
* Handle amendments to pay cycles and generate reports as needed.
* Provide support to staff regarding payroll and timesheet queries.
* Respond to third-party payroll information requests.
* Stay updated on payroll legislation and tax changes.
* Supply payroll data to the Management Accountant and Chief Financial Officer as required.
Accounts Payable Duties
* Process invoices and payments in accordance with finance procedures.
* Assist with NDIA invoice claims under managerial guidance.
* Communicate with suppliers and resolve account queries promptly.
* Prepare financial reports as needed.
* Provide backup and support to team members to achieve departmental goals.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll or accounts assistant roles (desirable).
* Familiarity with HRM systems (Employment Hero), payroll software (KeyPay), and accounting platforms (Xero) is preferred.
* Understanding of the SCHADS MA Award.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* High compliance awareness and understanding of statutory obligations.
* Ability to meet deadlines and maintain high standards.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to manage payroll-related enquiries.
* Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence.
