Visiting Medical Officer – Paediatrics
Griffith Base Hospital is a major referral hospital within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), delivering a broad range of acute and specialist services to Griffith and surrounding communities. The hospital provides comprehensive paediatric care in a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver evidence-based paediatric clinical services across inpatient, outpatient and on-call settings.
* Support junior medical officers and multidisciplinary staff through supervision, leadership and education.
* Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management activities.
* Contribute to continuity of care through effective communication and use of clinical information systems.
* Participate in the department's on-call roster.
Qualifications
* Holds unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician.
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Paediatrics at the role delineation of the service.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
* Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
