Your New Role And Responsibilities
The JCSE team supports the advanced systems at Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC)—a critical hub for multi-agency collaboration and command of Australian Defence Force operations. With 113 integrated operational spaces, HQJOC relies on seamless system coordination to ensure mission success.
The IT Security Officer will support our customers technology, where an overview of responsibilities includes:
* Oversee adherence to Defence security frameworks (ISM, DSPF) and manage system accreditation.
* Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain security documentation.
* Define and enforce security controls, access management, and data protection measures.
* Lead incident response planning, continuous monitoring, and vulnerability management.
* Provide guidance and training to project teams and stakeholders on security best practices.
What You'll Bring To Make An Impact
* Strong understanding of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), DSPF, and related compliance standards.
* Experience in risk management, security architecture, and incident response for mission-critical systems.
* Familiarity with network security, identity and access management, and secure system design.
* Proven experience in system certification and accreditation processes within Defence or similar regulated environments.
* Australian Citizen and active NV-2 AGSVA security clearance.
