About the Role:
Girton Grammar School is seeking an experienced English teacher to develop and deliver high-quality lessons, maintain and build on our academic success. This is a full-time and ongoing teaching position.
The primary responsibility will be teaching English VCE and 7-10, helping students develop a passion for the subject, while developing their skills in both reading and writing.
You will engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep understanding of the subject and its real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach English across VCE and years 7-10, delivering engaging and rigorous lessons that foster reading and writing proficiency.
* Design and deliver explicit, evidence-based lessons that incorporate current research-based pedagogies and trigger critical thinking, discussion, and analysis.
* Develop and implement a robust curriculum that embeds cognitive load theory, explicit instruction, and the Science of Learning.
* Collaborate in a supportive team to write and deliver lessons that provide students access to their preferred futures.
Qualifications and Skills:
Appropriate qualification and current registration as a teacher. A passion for teaching English in years 7-12 with the ability to write and deliver an outstanding English curriculum. Understanding of current research-based pedagogies and the ability to apply them to an English curriculum.
