We are partnering with a highly advanced Australian engineering and technology business seeking a commercially minded and operationally focused Procurement Excellence Manager to play a key role in strengthening and evolving procurement capability across a complex and fast-moving environment.
This is not a traditional category management role. The focus of the position is on procurement excellence, governance, operational maturity and building scalable procurement frameworks that support growth, program delivery and long-term operational capability.
Working closely with technical manufacturing, engineering, finance, operations and executive stakeholders, the successful candidate will help drive process optimisation, supplier performance, procurement reporting and systems improvement across the organisation. The role will suit someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving ways of working and bringing structure to evolving and technically sophisticated environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Procurement Excellence Manager will lead initiatives across procurement governance, supplier management frameworks, reporting and KPI development, procurement systems and continuous improvement programs. A key part of the role will involve identifying inefficiencies, reducing manual processes and implementing practical solutions that improve procurement performance, compliance and operational effectiveness.
The role will also support broader procurement transformation initiatives, strengthen procurement controls and help establish consistent procurement practices across multiple operational and project environments. This position requires strong engagement across both technical and corporate teams to ensure procurement processes align with broader commercial, operational and delivery objectives.
About You
The successful candidate will bring experience across procurement operations, procurement excellence or procurement transformation within technically complex industries such as advanced manufacturing, engineering, industrial, infrastructure, aerospace, technology or other highly regulated operational environments.
You will possess strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and the ability to operate both strategically and hands‐on. Strong stakeholder engagement skills will be essential, as this role requires collaboration across engineering, operations and executive teams while influencing outcomes in an environment that continues to scale and evolve.
Experience improving procurement governance, supplier performance, reporting structures, operational processes and procurement systems will be highly regarded.
Why Join
This is an opportunity to join a business operating at the forefront of innovation and technical capability, where procurement is seen as a critical enabler of operational performance and future growth.
You will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact by helping shape procurement capability, improve operational maturity and support the ongoing evolution of a business delivering highly sophisticated projects and solutions in a rapidly growing sector.
