Foodbank SA & NT is South Australia and Northern Territories largest food relief organisation. We are a not-for-profit and non-denominational community-based organisation established in SA in 2000.

Our vision is to end hunger in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Our mission is to get the most good food, to the most people, in the most efficient way possible.

Foodbank SA & NT has 13 Food Hubs and provides food relief to over 150,000 people every month. One third of these are children. We source food from wholesalers, manufacturers, supermarkets and growers, saving more than 2.5 million kilograms of food from landfill each year. In the last 12 months, we have sourced enough food to put more than 10 million meals on the table of those doing it tough in our community.

About the Role

Foodbank SA & NT are establishing a new Mobile Food Hub service on the Eyre Peninsula and are seeking an enthusiastic candidate for the permanent, full time role of Mobile Food Hub Coordinator.

The Mobile Food Hub is a customised truck that travels to areas identified as being areas of great need with limited service or access to food relief.

The Food Hub Coordinator leads the daily operations of the Mobile Food Hub including customer service, coordination and supervision of volunteers and inventory management. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and friendly team of staff and volunteers, where you will have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

In this role you will:

Provide high level customer service with sensitivity to social and cultural needs

Induct, train and manage a team of volunteers

Manage inventory including pricing, stock control, ordering and stocktakes

Ensure Mobile Food Hub is well organised, safe and presented

Ensure daily administration is completed.

To cover the distances between Mobile Hub locations, the Mobile Food Hub Coordinator will be required to undertake regular overnight trips. The Mobile Food Hub is equipped with accommodation for this purpose. Further information will be provided during the recruitment process.

About You

As the successful applicant, you will have strong leadership, communication and organisational skills with excellent time management, and you will enjoy working closely within a diverse and friendly team.

You will hold, or be willing to obtain, an LR or MR drivers' licence.

A commitment to community service and the not for profit sector is essential and previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage. A National Police Clearance and First Aid Certificate are essential.
