OverviewJoin to apply for the Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology role at HealthscopeRingwood Private Hospital is seeking an experienced oncology-trained Registered Nurse to join our Day Therapy Unit, Thompson, on a part time basis with flexible hours.
Our Day Therapy Unit seeks a compassionate and skilled registered nurse with experience in oncology/haematology.
As a Chemotherapy Nurse, you will be responsible for the administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive treatments, educating patients on self-care and effective strategies for management of side effects.The successful candidates will have sound clinical skills, an interest in cancer care and enjoy interacting with patients and their families in our Day Therapy Unit.
There will also be opportunities to progress to CNS and pathways to ANUM.
ResponsibilitiesProvide evidenced based nursing care including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy as well as other infusions for conditions such as Crohn's and MS.Liaise with the multi-disciplinary teamEnsure patient and staff safetyDeliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
Essential CriteriaCurrent Registration with AHPRAWorking with Children checkExperience working in oncology and haematologyExperience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatmentsCompetency in PICC, PORT, IV Cannulation and phlebotomy skillsCurrent ADAC qualificationCVAD management experienceCommitment to Quality Patient CareCompliance with ACQSHC National standardsSound clinical decision making and problem solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsWorks well independently and within a teamBasic computer skills
