As a lecturer, your core purpose is to guide and support students through their learning journey. That means teaching, facilitating hands‑on learning, assessing their progress, and mentoring them as they build their skills. Alongside classroom delivery, lecturers also contribute to professional activities and tasks that support high‑quality training across the College.
To maintain the standard of education we're known for, it's essential that lecturers stay up to date with current industry practices, new technologies, and developments in the civil construction field. Ongoing professional development is a key part of the role, ensuring that what we teach reflects real‑world expectations and industry needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
We're seeking applicants who hold Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology qualifications—or an equivalent—and have a minimum of 5 years' experience in their area of expertise, including recent on‑site experience. That industry background is vital, because our students learn best from people who've lived the work, not just studied it.
There is also a minimum requirement for delivering accredited vocational education and training. Under the Registration Standards 2025, lecturers must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment—TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110—or a secondary teaching qualification combined with an Assessor Skill Set ((TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).
If you don't yet have the VET credential, that's okay. You're still welcome to apply. What we do require is that successful candidates enrol in an approved training and assessment qualification, begin their studies, and make steady progress so the credential can be completed within two years of starting with us.
We're looking for people with strong industry experience, a commitment to teaching, and a willingness to grow professionally. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
