We would love for more of our consumers to have access to occupational therapy and have a range of roles across different mental health services which are available to occupational therapists: Full time and part time roles are available from 2-5 days a week Job locations ranging from Daw Park to Noarlunga Flexibility in contract duration and FTE Roles available from coordinating OT group programmes to mental health case coordination with opportunities to provide OT interventions, run groups and participate in projects Work with adults or older people, people living in the community, in rehab, day programmes and clinic settings Roles suitable for people with a range of experience working as an Occupational Therapist If you don’t have mental health or role specific experience but have good clinical judgement and communication skills we have training available to support you to settle in and feel confident in your new role. About the role: As an AHP2 Occupational Therapist you will: Work within a multi-disciplinary team and have professional support from the Principal Occupational Therapist, SALHN Mental Health Services. Use your understanding of occupation to support people with mental health challenges to overcome the mental health, cognitive, physical and sensory barriers to engage in the occupations that support their recovery and wellbeing. Support your career progression and clinical skill development through access to professional development funding, quality clinical supervision and our Mental Health OT professional development calendar. About you: Highly motivated and have the ability to engage with consumers who have a lived experienced of mental health challenges including trauma Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Good clinical judgement skills around barriers and facilitators of occupational performance Experience in the provision of a range of occupational therapy assessments, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and skills including individual and group work. Ability to provide occupational therapy consultancy within the team and sector programs and evaluate occupational therapy outcomes. A commitment to evidence-based practice and values-driven care.
