Whitty Engineering is a family owned general engineering business, specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of timber mill processing equipment Australia wide. Established in 2008, the business has grown to employ 60 staff in its purpose built Mount Gambier workshop.
The Procurement and Stores Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of all materials, stock and consumables. Decisions made on a daily basis have a direct impact on the success of customer jobs and business profitability. You will ensure purchasing decisions achieve the needs of quality, timing of supply and price, With the assistance of a Stores Officer, ensure high-quality service is provided to internal and external customers through efficient management of the supply-chain.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source and build relationships with new suppliers.
* Source quotes, check pricing against budget and place orders.
* Implement and maintain systems to efficiently manage the purchase of goods, from order placement, receipting, storage and dispatch.
* Maintain a clean, orderly and well-stocked store.
About You
* Organised, efficient, detailed, self-starter.
* Able to think on your feet and solve problems.
* Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (preferred).
* Experience in a procurement or purchasing role (preferred).
* Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs and MYOB (preferred).
