English / HASS Teacher - Secondary School
A.B. Paterson College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable English / HASS Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position from Term 1 to the end of Term 2, 2026.
We are looking for an educator who is committed to delivering engaging, curriculum‑aligned learning experiences that inspire students to think critically, communicate effectively, and explore the world through Humanities and Social Sciences. Experience teaching English and HASS across Years 7–12 is highly desirable, along with the ability to create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and curriculum‑aligned lessons in English and Humanities & Social Sciences across relevant year levels.
* Foster critical thinking, communication, and inquiry skills through innovative teaching strategies and classroom activities.
* Assess and report on student progress in accordance with College policies and QCAA requirements, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
* Contribute to the College community by participating in faculty meetings, co‑curricular activities, and collaborative planning initiatives.

* A qualified and experienced English and HASS Teacher, ideally with experience teaching across Years 7–12.

* Someone who embraces innovation and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
* A strong background and sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus for English and Humanities.
* Up‑to‑date skills in the use of IT and digital classroom resources.
* Current CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain.
* Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position.
