Where You'll Be Working

Based at Manning Hospital in Taree, you'll be part of a vibrant regional health service. Our perioperative team provides high‑quality care across the full surgical journey, supported by three operating theatres and one procedure room, with dedicated anaesthetic and recovery services.

About the Role

As Nurse Unit Manager - Perioperative (Level, you'll lead a skilled and dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering outstanding surgical care. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring safe, efficient and compassionate perioperative services that support both patients and staff.

You'll oversee the day‑to‑day coordination of theatre operations, maintaining optimal staffing, managing resources, and promoting a positive, high‑performing team culture. Working closely with your Nurse Unit Manager Level 3 (NUM, Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Clinical Support Officer (CSO) and Operating Theatre staff, you'll lead quality initiatives, drive service improvements, and contribute to patient‑centred outcomes every step of the way.

Each day brings variety - from managing workflow, supporting staff and solving clinical challenges, to mentoring team members and contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement across perioperative services.

About You

You're an experienced perioperative nurse leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑driven environment. You bring strong clinical knowledge, clear communication and a commitment to modelling compassionate, accountable leadership.

You demonstrate:

Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA

Relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership or management; or willingness to undertake same.

Excellence in leadership, coordination and communication across multidisciplinary teams

A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to operational challenges

Dedication to safe, high‑quality patient care and continuous improvement

The ability to inspire, mentor and support others to give their best
