Role:
Join Joshua Rayan Communications ("JRC") as a full-time HR Specialist and contribute to the growth and wellbeing of our dynamic team.
JRC is a leading ESG guidance and advisory firm based in Malaysia. We assist Corporates, notably, public listed companies in the development of sustainability strategies, policies, action plans, sustainability reports, good governance practices as well as setting ESG KPIs and targets and undertaking materiality assessments. JRC is also an IFRS-certified training partner for Integrated Reporting and continues to drive Integrated Reporting adoption in Malaysia.
We are looking for a professional, people-first HR Specialist to join us on a full-time basis to oversee and support all human resource functions, documentation, and compliance across the company.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Advisory
* Deliver expert guidance on HR policies, best practices, and employment regulations to both employees and management
* Counsel employees on HR-related matters including workplace concerns, with empathy and discretion
* Support management on people-related strategies, employee concerns, legal matters disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in alignment with company values and legal requirements
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
* Manage the end-to-end hiring process, including sourcing, screening, shortlisting and onboarding
* Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and define clear, targeted job descriptions
* Provide input on competitive compensation and hiring benchmarks based on market standards
HR Compliance & Documentation
* Maintain accurate HR documentation of all employment-related documentation, including contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and personnel files
* Ensure compliance with all applicable Malaysian employment laws and HR practices.
Training & Development
* Oversee HRDC-related matters including timely claims, submissions, and compliance
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of HR experience, ideally in SMEs or startups
* Solid knowledge of Malaysian employment law and HR best practices
* Proven track record in managing end-to-end recruitment and candidate screening
* Independent, self-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision
* Comfortable as a solo HR contributor, reporting directly to senior management
* Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to counsel and advise
* Familiarity with HRDC processes and claims is an advantage

* This is a full-time remote-working position open to Klang Valley residents with valid working permits only
