About The Role:
* Oversee all legal workstreams for the Australian business, acting as a trusted adviser to leadership on complex transactions and strategic matters while reporting directly to the General Counsel
* Lead M&A transactions, including asset acquisitions, joint ventures and partnership deals across the full project lifecycle from development through to construction and operation
* Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with EPCs, O&M providers and major suppliers, managing project finance documentation and stakeholder negotiations
* Provide strategic advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management with regular interaction with C-suite executives and external stakeholders
* Shape legal strategy with genuine autonomy whilst collaborating with a supportive regional team, building the legal function as the company scales
Skills and Experience:
* 8+ years post-qualification experience with strong corporate and M&A expertise, admitted to practice in Australia
* Energy, infrastructure or resources sector experience with proven ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and commercial acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice
* Strong contract drafting and negotiation capabilities with experience managing complex, high-value transactions
* Strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can balance multiple workstreams effectively
