Seeking Senior/ Lead Software Engineers

You will join a public-sector education program rebuilding a dense, future-ready digital learning platform that supports leadership development for education leaders. The delivery group is multidisciplinary, made up of product managers, UX designers, QA specialists and engineers working toward user-centred outcomes. The team prioritises governance, accessibility, security and scalable cloud-native engineering patterns.
Your new role
The role is Senior Front End Engineer focused on crafting the user-facing experience using modern front-end technologies. You will translate UX concepts into polished, responsive interfaces that work across mobile and desktop environments. You will collaborate with backend engineers, a product architect and QA to ensure UI implementations integrate cleanly with APIs and meet performance goals. You will take technical ownership of front end code quality, component architecture and accessibility conformance. You will participate in Agile ceremonies and help evolve CI/CD and front end build practices.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience: At least five years building production front end applications with strong emphasis on responsive design.
* Core skills: Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS/SASS and JavaScript plus hands-on experience with 3.
* Tooling: Familiarity with modern build and task runners such as npm and Vite.
* Cloud experience: Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms and front end deployments (for example AWS, Azure or serverless hosting).
* Accessibility: Practical experience developing WCAG-compliant interfaces and testing across devices and browsers.
* Collaboration: Ability to work with designers and backend developers, mentor junior engineers and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
* Mindset: A commitment to maintainable, performant code and modern engineering practices such as TDD, CI and automated releases.
