PSD Energy is expanding its national commissioning capability and we're seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the safe, reliable and compliant energisation of solar farms, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations and other grid-connected assets across Australia.
This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced project environments, enjoys hand-on technical work, and values delivering high-quality outcomes for clients and network operators.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and execute commissioning activities across solar, BESS and substation projects.
* Develop commissioning plans, procedures and test documentation.
* Conduct pre-energisation checks, functional testing and performance verification.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on site.
* Ensure all commissioning works meet project specifications, Australian Standards and network compliance requirements.
* Collaborate with construction, engineering, HSE and client teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Prepare detailed commissioning reports and maintain accurate records.
* Support continuous improvement across commissioning processes and site practices.
About You
* Degree-qualified Engineer (Electrical or related discipline).
* Proven experience commissioning solar, BESS, substations or similar HV/LV infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of protection systems, SCADA, inverters, HV switching and grid compliance.
* Ability to interpret drawings, single line diagrams and OEM documentation.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
* Willingness to travel to project sites nationally.
