Commercial Manager – Brisbane
Design & Build Recruitmenthas partnered with a National Tier 2 Commercial Construction Company, seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their very well-established team in Brisbane.
With a strong project pipeline in Queensland across education, health, defence and commercial sectors, this role will suit a commercially minded leader who can balance strategic growth with sound financial and contractual management.
You will take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects, driving profitability, managing risk and strengthening client and industry relationships.
Working closely with the General Manager and delivery teams, you'll also play a key role in identifying new business opportunities and positioning the business as a contractor of choice in the QLD market.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all commercial aspects of project delivery, ensuring strong financial outcomes and contract compliance.
Lead pre-contract activities including tender reviews, bid strategy and pricing input.
Drive business development across Brisbane and regional QLD, fostering long-term client relationships.
Manage risk, contract negotiation and dispute resolution with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Provide leadership and mentoring to project and commercial teams, strengthening capability and consistency.
Support forecasting, cost planning and financial reporting to maintain project accuracy and profitability.
Requirements
Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar commercial construction role.
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets, costs and procurement effectively.
Exceptional negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex situations and make informed decisions.
Leadership experience, capable of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
Degree qualified in Construction Management, Business or a related field.
