Job Title: Auditor - Governance and Compliance Specialist
Description:
Auditor role available for a Temporary opportunity (up to 12 months), full time position. As an Auditor, you'll undertake diverse assurance engagements and special projects that drive operational excellence, ensure compliance, and foster continuous improvement.
About the Role:
This role involves planning and executing audits and special projects, delivering high-quality outcomes within established deadlines. You'll evaluate internal controls, business processes, and governance frameworks, providing actionable recommendations. Additionally, you'll engage with stakeholders across the department, fostering collaborative relationships and promoting sound governance and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute diverse audits and special projects, delivering high-quality outcomes within established deadlines.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, and governance frameworks, providing actionable recommendations.
- Prepare clear and concise audit documentation, including Terms of Reference and Audit Reports.
- Engage with stakeholders across the department, fostering collaborative relationships and promoting sound governance and compliance.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure they are implemented and effective.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in audit or risk management (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CA or equivalent), or progressing towards these qualifications.
- Demonstrated audit or assurance experience, preferably within a public sector or similarly complex environment.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- A collaborative mindset and proven relationship-building abilities.
- Sound understanding of relevant auditing standards, including familiarity with NSW Government frameworks and policies.
