The role
Position Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quarry Laboratory Supervisor currently exists to join our Northern Region Infrastructure Services Team based in Cedar Creek. The role involves overseeing laboratory operations, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage quarry laboratory operations at Cedar Creek and possible regional mobile and fixed sites, including team supervision, development, laboratory assets and plant requirements.
- Ensure laboratory and production facility compliance with NATA, the Department of Main Roads Construction Materials Testing Supplier Registration System, annex laboratories, and all statutory health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Assist in the design and performance of laboratory mix designs, blends and quarry R&D to the required specifications.
- Supervise, train and undertake compliance testing for samples of aggregate, soils, road base and CTB materials.
- Record, report and control data/process for product performance tracking.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High level of competence in construction laboratories with NATA signatory status for test methods.
- Extensive quarry, soils and road design knowledge and experience.
- Sound knowledge of Queensland test methods and Australian laboratory standards with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Questlab.
- Strong leadership skills and commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client‐facing environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation, interpretation and delivery of data.
- Full‐time position; night shift, weekend work and FIFO may be required.
