Support the Spiritual and Emotional Needs of Elderly People
This role involves providing support to elderly people living in their homes, supplementing and complementing the work of our At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator. You will be actively involved with a local Christian church in the Newcastle and wider Hunter area.
We have opportunities across Newcastle and Hunter region: Belmont, Boolaroo, Cardiff, Hamilton, Mayfield, Wallsend, Warners Bay and surrounding areas.
You'll be making a real difference in people's lives by:

To succeed in this role, you will require:
* A high level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills
* Pastoral care training, for example, Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or attend HammondCare pastoral care training - Spiritual Care Series
We offer ongoing support, invitations to social events and provide specific pastoral care training, Spiritual Care Series. Volunteering alongside us can be a rewarding experience for both you and the person you visit. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation.
Requirements:
• 18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by us
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
