Company Description
IndieCrew is a free, community-driven job board built specifically for the independent film industry. It exists to solve a simple but persistent problem: talented crew members struggle to find real, relevant work, and indie productions struggle to find the right people—without paywalls, spam, or noise.
IndieCrew strips away friction and gatekeeping, focusing on clarity, accessibility, and trust. The platform is designed by someone who has seen firsthand how unstable and difficult the industry can be, especially for emerging and independent filmmakers. IndieCrew's goal is to make finding work easier, faster, and fairer for the indie film community.
Role Description
IndieCrew is looking for a Film Director to create a short (approximately 15 seconds) promotional ad for the IndieCrew platform. This is a paid, short-term freelance project, not a full-time role.
The director will be responsible for developing a concise, engaging creative concept that clearly communicates IndieCrew's value to filmmakers and crew—ideally with a tone that feels authentic to the indie film community. The ad may be used on social platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and the IndieCrew website.
This role is open to directors who can work independently or with a small crew and are comfortable owning the creative process end-to-end, from concept through final delivery.
Responsibilities
• Develop a clear, compelling creative concept for a ~15 second promotional video
• Collaborate with IndieCrew on messaging, tone, and brand alignment
• Direct and manage the shoot (scope and scale flexible based on concept)
• Oversee or handle post-production to deliver a polished final edit
• Deliver final video assets suitable for social media and web use
• Work within a defined budget and timeline
Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in film or video direction (professional, indie, or strong portfolio-based experience welcomed)
• Strong storytelling skills, especially in short-form content
• Experience with video production and post-production workflows
• Ability to translate a product or service into a visually engaging narrative
• Comfortable working with limited resources and small crews (or solo)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
Formal education is not required—a strong portfolio and creative vision matter more.
