ShoalBayReceivingStation(SBRS)basedinDarwinandAustralianDefenceSatelliteCommunicationsStation(ADSCS)basedinGeraldtonareremoteintelligencefacilitiesmanagedbyASD.WorkingatoursiteswillofferauniqueandchallengingworkenvironmentwhereexperiencedpublicsectorprofessionalsworkalongsidehighlyskilledtechnicalexpertstoachieveexcitingoutcomesforASD.
Weareseekingenergetic,highlyorganisedandtask-orientatedWork,HealthandSafety(WHS)OfficertoundertakeabroadrangeofworkinsupportofASD'smission.Thispositionisresponsiblefordeveloping,implementing,andmaintainingarobustWHSframeworkatremoteintelligencesites,ensuringcompliancewithallrelevantAustralianlegislationandstandards.YouwillplayacriticalroleinsupportingtheinternalinfrastructureofoneofthelargestorganisationswithintheNationalIntelligenceCommunity.
Youwillberequiredtoworkcloselybetweenthetwositesandotherareasacrosstheorganisation.
Duetotheuniquenatureoftheworkconductedatthislocation,staffmaybeprovidedtheopportunitytoobtainarangeofadditionalqualificationsincludingconstructioncards,truckandforkliftlicenses.

WorkHealthandSafetyOfficerisaccountableunderlimiteddirectionto:
* Understandandapplyrelevantworkhealthandsafetylegislation,ASDpoliciesandprocedures,recommendingviablesolutionsandpreventionstrategiestoaddressworkhealthandsafetyissues.
* Managecompletionofworkwithintimeframesandqualityrequirements,shareownexpertisewithothersandguideandmentorlessexperiencedemployees.
* Provideadvice,collaborateandcommunicatewithstakeholdersoncomplextoverycomplexandsensitiveWHSissues.
* Buildproductiveworkingrelationshipswithstakeholderstoinfluencedecisionsandensurealignmentwithbroaderstrategicobjectives.
* AssessandevaluateWHSstrategy,initiatives,projects,policyandprocedures.
* Conductanddirecthazardinspectionsforworkareasandconstructionprojectstoensurelegalcompliance.Recommendandimplementappropriatecontrolmeasures.
* Leadincidentinvestigations,reportincidentsintoSentinelandreportnotifiableincidentstotheCommonwealthandState/TerritoryRegulators.Implementcorrectiveactionstopreventrecurrence.
* Theidealcandidatewillbeahighlyorganized,detail-orientedindividualwithstrongcommunicationskillsandapassionformaintainingasafe,compliant,andproductiveworkenvironment.
* Youwillworkinmulti-disciplinaryteamstounderstandandapplyrelevantWHSlegislation,ASDpoliciesandprocedures,recommendingviablesolutionsandpreventionstrategiestoaddressWHSissues.
