ROLE – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
SALARY - $140,000 - $200,000 per annum, dependent on experience and location
TYPE – Permanent
LOCATION – Can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth
My client is a leading engineering business delivering projects across bulk material handling industries.
They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This role can be based at their offices in either Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* Experienced in Bulk Materials Handling or a similar heavy equipment industry
* Previous exposure to conveyors, crushers, screens, chutes, pumps, piping, materials handling systems or processing equipment
* Experience with Bentley products / MicroStation would be highly beneficial
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Highly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.
* Good theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
* Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
* Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
* Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
* Managing the full lifecycle design projects in a heavy equipment industry
* Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
* Liasing with manufacturing providers
* Being involved in final assembly
* Creating required documentation for design and project reports
* Updating 3D models and drawings
* Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
* Checking drawings for sign off
* Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
