We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Email Marketing Manager to help us drive member engagement, conversion, and overall satisfaction by delivering effective email communications and automation that align with our strategic objectives. This role is responsible for managing the ACS organisation’s flagship member newsletter as well as implementing targeted nurture campaigns and trigger-based communications that directly support membership growth and retention.
By leveraging marketing automation platforms, segmentation, and performance insights, the Email Manager ensures ACS communications are timely, relevant, and brand aligned. The role plays a key part in strengthening member journeys through the design and optimisation of automated campaigns that improve both efficiency and impact.
Working in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation, the Email Manager ensures all communications contribute to ACS’s strategic priorities, while continuously refining processes and outcomes through the effective use of systems and tools. Experience with Adobe Campaign or similar marketing automation platforms is desirable, though the role is tool-agnostic and adaptable to evolving technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Content creation & management: Plan, write, edit, and publish content for the weekly member newsletter in line with strategic themes and engagement goals
- Build, test, and send the newsletter via the organisation’s EMS, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and adherence to brand guidelines
- Maintain content calendars to ensure timely, consistent, and relevant communications
- Trigger-based communications & automated journeys: Design, implement, and optimise lifecycle and trigger-based campaigns (welcome, onboarding, renewal, retention, event follow-ups, etc.)
- Develop nurture flows that support membership acquisition and retention
- Email systems, data quality & process optimisation: Manage campaign workflows, segmentation, and targeting within the marketing automation system
- Ensure compliance with data governance, unsubscribe preferences, and privacy standards
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency
- Email performance tracking & reporting: Monitor, analyse, and report on performance and member engagement metrics
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimise future communications
- Collaboration & stakeholder engagement: Partner with internal teams to source content and align messaging with organisational priorities
- Coordinate with design and production resources to ensure quality outputs
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency with email marketing automation platforms
- Understanding of email best practices, including deliverability, compliance, and list management
- Analytical mindset, with ability to interpret email performance data and member engagement metrics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; design tool experience (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite); the email platform Adobe Campaign is a plus
- Cooperative team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive, organised, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications/Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in marketing or communications, with hands-on involvement in email campaign creation, automation, and optimisation
- Proven experience managing newsletters, nurture campaigns, and trigger-based communications
- Skilled in scoping, defining, and briefing cross-functional teams on asset requirements to support marketing initiatives
- Experience implementing and configuring dynamic email content, segmentation, and personalisation
