Learning and Development Officer

Your role will include liaising with stakeholders to identify the training needs of our workforce, and to support a range of training and development initiatives that enhance workforce capability. This could include using e-learning software to design bespoke packages, reviewing and designing content in ASD’s learning management system and identifying and improving business processes related to training.

You will develop and maintain relationships with external training providers, and administer bespoke training. Collaboration with stakeholders, coordination of learning programs and evaluation of training activities, as well as researching, developing and maintaining these relationships is a core function of the role. You will also be required to identify and improve business processes related to training. Strong learning design skills, including needs analysis will be beneficial when designing for engaging learning, developing impactful e-learning courses and using a variety of tools as part of this role.

Additionally, this role provides an opportunity to develop your L&D coordination and training administration skills, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Learning Management Systems (LMS) Officer

The Learning Management Systems (LMS) Officer supports the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ASD’s Learning Management System. The role ensures that learning content is delivered efficiently, system data remains accurate, and internal stakeholders receive high‑quality support. The position contributes to uplifting capability across ASD by enabling reliable digital learning experiences and supporting training-related business processes.

As an LMS Officer, you will work with stakeholders across ASD to understand their training requirements and ensure these are supported through accurate LMS configuration, timely course setup, and smooth digital learning delivery. You will assist with reviewing, uploading and refining learning content, troubleshooting issues, and using e‑learning tools to support the development and delivery of online learning. Your role will include identifying opportunities to improve training workflows, strengthening user experience, and maintaining high data quality across the system.

You will work closely with internal business areas to coordinate bespoke training activities, ensuring programs are set up and administered effectively within the LMS. This includes providing guidance on system capabilities, assisting teams in structuring and updating their learning content, and supporting best‑practice approaches to digital learning. Your focus on accuracy, service, and continuous improvement will help ensure ASD staff experience a seamless and reliable learning environment. You will schedule programs, manage enrolments, monitor compliance, and support evaluation activities.

This role also provides an opportunity to develop and strengthen your L&D coordination and administration skills within a dynamic environment.

Skills Assessment Officer

The Skills Assessment Officer contributes to the design, implementation, and ongoing management of ASD’s skills frameworks and assessment systems. The role supports ASD’s capability development by ensuring skills information is accurate, assessments are well‑designed, and data is effectively administered and analysed.

You will work with internal stakeholders to understand role requirements, map skills to organisational needs, support assessment processes, and maintain high‑quality skills and capability data. The role ensures that ASD has a clear view of current workforce capability, enabling targeted development, workforce planning, and strategic decision‑making.

The Skills Assessment Officer will contribute to the design of skills assessment tools, digital assessment workflows, and capability models. You will help maintain data within the relevant systems, support reporting activities, ultimately assisting stakeholders across ASD to utilise skills information effectively.

This role provides opportunities to build and apply expertise in assessment design, capability frameworks, workforce analytics, and stakeholder engagement.
