Description:
We are seeking an experienced Rostering & HR Officer to join our Human Resources team on a part-time basis (4 days per week) working Tuesday – Friday total of 60.8 hours per fortnight. Some flexibility is available to spread these hours over 5 days) provided Thursday/Friday is covered.
About the Role
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Rostering & HR Officer plays a key role in ensuring:
Accurate and compliant residential rosters
Effective workforce coordination and leave management
Organisation-wide training planning, scheduling and compliance
You will work closely with clinical leaders, managers and staff to ensure the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time — supporting both continuity of care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, maintain and distribute residential rosters in line with care minute requirements, Enterprise Agreement provisions and staffing structures
Manage daily roster changes, backfill arrangements and agency usage as required.
Coordinate leave approvals and roster amendments through HRIS and rostering systems
Respond to staff queries relating to rosters and leave.
Plan, schedule and administer mandatory and role-specific training (face-to-face and online)
Maintain accurate training, competency and compliance records within HRIS
Generate and monitor compliance and workforce reports, escalating issues as required
Support audits, reporting and legislative compliance
Contribute to a positive, respectful and supportive workplace culture
About You
You are highly organised, detail-oriented and calm under pressure. You enjoy working autonomously while being part of a collaborative team and have a genuine commitment to supporting staff and quality care outcomes.
You will bring:
Certificate IV in a relevant qualification and at least 3 years' experience in an administrative role
Previous rostering experience (ideally in a complex or multi-disciplinary environment)
Strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High accuracy and attention to detail
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Confidence using electronic rostering systems and HRIS platforms
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience in aged care and/or the not-for-profit sector
Understanding of residential aged care workforce requirements and compliance obligations
Previous experience with Inerva and ELMO systems
Current COVID and Influenza vaccinations, highly recommended
