REQ647537 - Staff Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Hunter New England Mental Health Service
Permanent Part time 0.8FTE opportunity. Advertising closes 25 March 2026. Hunter New England Mental Health Service is seeking applications from suitably qualified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to join an established and supportive team. The role is 0.6 FTE at the CAMHS inpatient unit (Nexus) and 0.2 FTE at Safeguard CAMHS, providing assessment and management of young people presenting to both services. Responsibilities include supporting clinical governance with co-leadership, supervising junior medical staff (Registrars, RMOs, JMOs), and managing mental health presentations across all ages when on call.

Role Details
* Position: Staff Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Qualifications and Requirements
* Suitably qualified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
* Demonstrated clinical governance experience and ability to supervise Registrars, RMOs, and JMOs
* Ability to manage mental health presentations across age groups on call
* Awareness of NSW Health policies and child safety standards
