About the role:
General Counsel (approx. 50%) Chief People Officer (approx. 50%)
* Hands-on, commercial, dynamic role reporting to the top decision-maker
You'll cover:
* Contracts (supplier, services, sponsorship, venue/events, procurement, licences)
* General day-to-day advice on a variety of matters including commercial guidance to business leaders
* Disputes + claims (manage issues, drive outcomes, brief external counsel)
* Governance + compliance (policies, approvals, frameworks including AML/CTF)
* Property + projects (leasing, works, operational projects)
* Support and leadership of a capable P+C team of 8 (which includes WHS)
The ideal candidate:
* 10+ years PQE coming from INH in a Senior Legal function
* Commercial, pragmatic, calm under pressure
* Confident making calls at pace and keeping stakeholders aligned
* Strong general commercial background (in-house or top/mid-tier) with breadth
* Solid working knowledge of employment/ER risk (not necessarily a specialist)
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Preferably based in Western Sydney
