Job Description
Be part of something meaningful at our Excellent-rated Broadmeadows Valley service!
We're looking for someone passionate about community, culture, and early learning to join our team in a full-time identified wayipungitj role at our Excellent-rated Broadmeadows Valley service. This is a designated position, open to First Nations applicants under Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic), recognising the cultural knowledge, lived experience, and community connection that are essential to this role.
About the Role
This position is a full-time maximum term role until June 2027.
As a wayipungitj, meaning "supporter", you'll play a key role in the Victorian Government's bubup balak wayipungang initiative, helping Koorie children and families connect with kindergarten programs across the Hume and Merri-bek areas. You'll work closely with families, educators, and community groups to make early learning spaces culturally inclusive, safe and welcoming.
Your work will help kindergartens grow their cultural capacity and ensure Aboriginal perspectives are part of everyday learning. You'll be a trusted connector between families, services, and community - making a real difference in the lives of children and the future of your community.
What You'll Bring
* Strong connection to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture and community
* Experience working with families, children, and local community services
* Great communication and relationship-building skills
* A current Working with Children Check
* A passion for early learning and cultural inclusion
* Qualifications in early childhood or community services are welcome but not required
