Chair, Treasurer and Non-Executive Director Job Description
The Board of Directors seeks suitably qualified individuals to join for a term of three years.
* Finance: Oversight of financial performance and management of organisational funds.
* Fundraising: Identification and pursuit of new funding opportunities to support the organisation's mission.
* Legal: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing guidance on legal matters.
* Strategic Planning: Development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve organisational goals.
* Organisational Governance: Overseeing the overall governance and direction of the organisation.
The Board is responsible for ensuring the organisation continues to protect threatened bear species and combat illegal wildlife trade. Key functions include fiscal oversight, evaluating CEO and Board performance, and maintaining regulatory compliance within Australia and internationally.
Non-Executive Directors participate in bi-monthly online meetings, lasting up to 2 hours. This role is voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed by the charity. Familiarisation with Free the Bears' work across Asia is encouraged.
