The Scylla ISS Senior Integration & Test Technician will support software integration, verification, and validation of the SCYLLA Sonar System for the Collins Class Submarine Scylla sonar and related systems on submarines, at the Combat Systems Support Facility, and the Thales Rockingham facility.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
* Maintenance and support of Sonar Support Systems located at Thales and customer premises.
* Conduct integration and test activities on platforms and support systems to ensure functionality and performance.
* Provide operational support to platforms and support systems to maintain material readiness.
* Execute testing and complete associated reports and documentation for platforms and support systems under the direction of the Integration and Test Engineer.
* Maintain Linux and Windows-based systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
* Conduct investigations related to sonar software on platforms and support systems, compiling detailed reports of findings.
* Produce build media as required to support software integration and deployment activities.
* Facilitate and drive continuous improvement of Lean systems and processes within the Engineering group.
* Manage HSE responsibilities for relevant Scylla ISS activities, including the creation and update of JSEAs and risk assessments, and promote a positive HSE culture.
Key Knowledge and Experience
* Investigate and troubleshoot hardware issues within an ICT environment.
* Investigate and troubleshoot Ethernet networks primarily OSI layers 1 through 3.
* Investigate and troubleshoot software issues within Linux and Windows environments.
* Experience with investigating and troubleshooting Linux based operating systems (Red Hat Linux 6 and 7 preferable).
* Understanding of common Linux shells and associated shell scripts, primarily bash.
* Linux and Windows software installation.
* Troubleshoot software applications running in Linux and Windows environments.
* Strong Linux system administration skills.
* Basic Windows administration skills.
Clearance and Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance. Pre‐employment police and medical checks are required. Clearance information is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website. Eligibility may also be influenced by the Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
