About The Opportunity
Are you passionate about medical education and supporting the next generation of psychiatrists? The Mental Health Service in South Western Sydney is seeking a dedicated and motivated Site Coordinator of Training (SCoT) based at Campbelltown Hospital to support and enhance medical education for Psychiatry Trainees. This 0.5 FTE Staff Specialist position plays a key role in overseeing training programs, providing supervision and mentorship, and ensuring a high-quality learning environment for psychiatry trainees. The SCoT will work closely with senior clinicians, hospital management, and Sydney South West Mid-North Coast Psychiatry Training Network to support accreditation requirements, improve trainee experiences, and foster a culture of excellence in education. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated clinician with a passion for medical training to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and growing hospital.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Site Coordinator of Training (SCoT), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality education, supervision, and support for psychiatry trainees at Campbelltown Hospital. Working closely with senior clinicians, District Mental Health management teams, and Psychiatry Training Networks, you will:
1. Oversee the coordination and delivery of training programs for psychiatry trainees.
2. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to trainees.
3. Collaborate with South Western Sydney Psychiatry Training Network to enhance learning opportunities.
4. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and training requirements.
5. Assist in addressing trainee concerns and improving their training experience.

1. Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with AHPRA and FRANZCP and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice.
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
4. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.
6. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of public health organisation, including the provision of services to local community, effective utilisation of resources, preparedness to participate in provision of health services at Area level, if credentialed.
7. Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established, if requested and credentialed.
8. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
