Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team! The HammondCare Volunteer program is a outstanding way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in Hunter. From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords whateveryou love, you can share it with someone who loves it too.
As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in your community. Do you enjoy reading true crime, biography and history books or have an interest in sewing? We’re looking for a friendly person who can spare an hour or two a week or a fortnight to visit or go on an outing with an older lady in Warabrook. Our client loves a chat and would love some company.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

- Time Required: We’d be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
- Training: Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive online and face-to-face training program so you will be well equipped as a volunteer.
