ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Casual IT Support Officer to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Council's IT systems. In this dynamic position, you'll assist staff with helpdesk requests, providing hardware, software, and network support, while contributing to IT-related tasks and projects.
Working within a collaborative Managed Services Provider environment, you'll engage with staff across the organisation to deliver high-quality technical assistance and proactive solutions.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Classifying, prioritising, and triaging IT Helpdesk requests.
* Monitoring helpdesk tickets to ensure timely resolution in line with service level agreements.
* Providing hardware support including configuration, imaging, relocation, and minor repairs of workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
* Supporting network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, mobile devices, and mobile device management.
* Delivering software support for Microsoft 365 applications including OneDrive and SharePoint, as well as installation and configuration of other software.
* Assisting with the protection and security of applications, resources, and data.
* Participating in IT-related projects, including safe testing of new software or hardware.
* Contributing to process development and documentation, including writing basic work procedures.
* Liaising with vendors to ensure efficient repair and maintenance of equipment.
A BIT ABOUT YOU:
To thrive in this casual role, you'll bring either a qualification in Information Technology or relevant hands-on experience in a similar support position.
You'll be confident working with enterprise-level IT technologies, including networks, communications, end-user devices, and security solutions. Your natural problem-solving skills and commitment to excellent customer service will shine as you troubleshoot issues and support staff across the organisation.
You'll also be someone who values collaboration, communicates effectively, and is eager to contribute to continuous improvement in IT support services.
