The next generation of mining will be driven by advances in data and technology.That's where Komatsu's Smart Mining comes in.It's a combination of advanced machine sensors and control systems, automation technology, and powerful data analysis.Here's your opportunity to join the team.About the roleNo two days are the same as you work across our customer's mine sites, applying your technical knowledge, project management, and stakeholder management skills to solve technical issues and provide expert advice to ensure optimal automation performance on our cutting-edge longwall mining equipment.As a Control & Automation Systems Engineer, you'll act as the technical liaison for Komatsu with our customer's operational and engineering teams.Reporting to the Longwall Control & Automation Delivery Team Leader, you'll build strong relationships with internal departments, including sales, service, engineering, and production.Key responsibilities include:Conduct operational analysis and functional validation tests as required.Investigate safety and performance issues, including conducting investigations and collecting relevant data for engineering analysis.Identify opportunities to optimize mining automation system performance and implement improvement initiatives.Visit operating longwall faces to understand operational needs and assist in achieving optimal system performance.Ensure problem-free start-up and commissioning of longwalls, on time.Review drawings and BOMs, and provide updates to engineering.Research and provide information to the service team to facilitate rapid resolution of field issues.This role involves travel to customer mine sites across Queensland and New South Wales, and potentially overseas.
